Why does everyone blame fast food on the obesity problems in?

obesity
Ryan’s mom asked:

America instead of blaming the person that is obese? I have worked at Mc Donald’s for a year now and have not gained weight and I eat it all the time. I have actually lost 10 pounds this year. If people would not allow their kids to park their butts in front of the tv, computer, or video games for hours at a time the obesity problem would be A LOT better. Quit using fast food as a scape goat if your kids are getting fat. Look at your activity levels!

Here here. And maybe if you didn’t eat junk ALL the time. Also, like you said, it’s not just about what you eat. It’s about being healthy through a balance of diet and exercise!

I love fast food esp. Mc Donalds, you just have to eat everything in moderation in order to stay healthy.

Because blaming someone else for one’s own problems is so much easier than taking responsibility for your own life

Just because someone is slim doesn’t mean that they are healthy.
One can have high blood pressure (from salty foods), high cholesterol (from fast food like McDonald’s) and still look very slim, yet die of a heart attack very young because of these problems.
I’m glad that you are slim, you probably have a high metabolism but don’t be complacent. Everything in moderation.
Make sure you get some healthy foods into your body, fruit and veg, instead of too many hamburgers.

That’s a good question.
I think in the past I think it was misinformed people looking for something fast and convienent,(obviously) that were not aware of all the added high fructose and additives that fast food chains add to their foods.
The Super Size menu sure didn’nt help alot especially if you drink soft drinks. The calorie and sugar content is off the clock.
Until they added the nutrition content on their website when I looked at the fat and calories in a Whopper my jaw dropped.
Hopefully it will change.
