Jawn108, I would like to tell you that massage is a wonderful experience for everyone, don’t deprive yourself from that experience, I have had clients with that concern on the past but when they worked up their courage and went for it they absolutely loved it. Our body feels and enjoys no matter our weight. Try and find a practitioner that makes you feel good and give it a try… that’s my advice

Something I forgot to mention…Certain styles of massage might totally be out of the question to perform if you are overweight: Thai Massage and Shiatsu (floor version).

to the MT who asked the question, if other people have a problem with your weight, too bad for them! they aren’t massaging you, so they can get over it. chances are if the client is going to complain about the way you work, you don’t need them. don’t let speculation get in the way of how you feel about yourself and your work. if you’re really still worried about it, perhaps you could take it as a chance to get in better shape! take up some cardio activity to burn belly fat.
